Welcome to the world of Ultralight Flying!!

Ultralight flying is grass roots flying at its best. The pilot permit for Ultralight aeroplanes is one of the easiest, lowest cost and most fun licences to obtain. Ultralight aircraft have become safe and sophisticated to the point of offering pleasure pilots all the adventure their imaginations can conjure. Equipped with wheels, floats or skiis ultralight aircraft offer the best freedoms in flying.
Aerosmith Ultralight Aviation
Ultralight student pilots must be at least 14 years old to fly solo and need to meet certain self -declared medical standards.
A minimum of 10 hours of flight training is required on ultralights, including at least two hours solo and 30 take-offs and landings  (10 solo) . An approved ground school is required. There is a written examination and a flight test. Final permit applicants must be 16 years old. The ultralight permit is valid in
Canada only for daytime flying in good weather, presently without passengers.

Legislation allowing passenger carrying  in ultralights with an ultralight permit is now available. The new Passenger carrying rating will require additional training.  Two ultralight pilots are allowed to fly together. Pilots who hold a licence with passenger carrying priviledges ( ie. recreational permit or private pilots licence.) may do so in an ultralight.

All ultralight times may be used as credit toward a recreational pilot permit (RPP) aeroplane, for general aviation flying.

If you hold a recreational pilot permit or a private licence or higher you are qualified to fly our ultralights with a check ride.

If you hold a private licence and want an ultralight permit .
The experience requirements are reduced to 5 hours, not less than 2 hours dual, no fewer than 20 take-offs, circuits and landings, 10 solo

Ultralight instructor licences are also available through our school.
you must be 18 years old and hold a Catagory 3 medical (from an approved medical examiner.
Merlin GT
Challenger II
We are using a Merlin GT tail dragger, with a tractor propeller and a Challlenger II, with tricycle gear and a pusher propeller, two of the most reliable aircraft in use.
They are powered by a Rotax engine with dual electronic ignition, dual fuel pumps and dual carbs for greatest safety and reliability. We have a set of Full Lotus floats with amphibious gear we utilize in summer and skiis for winter flying.
Southern Saskatchewan has some of the best daytime flying weather in Canada which provides more available training for our students.

We have two instructors, more than qualified, with commercial general aviation aeroplane licences, including instructor and instrument ratings.
We also have extensive cross country experince and can reccommend experienced aircraft building and maintainence professionals.

Average flight times for a novice pilot is around 15-20 hours with a cost of about  $ 1,700 -- $2,000. This will vary with experience, aptitude and consistently scheduled lessons. Flying may begin before ground school is started.

Our newly hard sufaced runway is located in close proximity to Regina ,just 10 kms north on highway 6.

Ultralight flying is a great introduction to the world of recreational flying as well as a cost effective introduction to general aviation.
